Instagram through generations: identities, memory and storytelling

Nowadays social media are fundamental for circulation and spreading of ideas, information and events. This workshop aims at defining Instagram’s use through different generations from younger people to the elder one. Starting with a focus on penetration of this platform in cultural events’ media campaigns, this would be a perspective on the perception of a social network like Instagram in contemporary society, analysing important issues of this kind of media, such as identity, memory and storytelling.

NOTES FROM NOWHERE! Ever-popular John Hudson launches his new book.

Fifty-two poems on life lived in rural France.

Writer, installation artist and editor, John Hudson, launches “Notes from Nowhere” his latest poetry collection, hot off the press this June. Four years ago John gave a ‘work in progress’ reading at the 2014 St Clementin Lit-Fest that became “Notes from Nowhere,” his seventh full-length poetry collection. The Voulmentin Lit-Fest 2018 event sees John return to the festival where he has created an installation, a film and his ever-popular reading tour, “Shapeshifter”. John will sign copies of “Notes from Nowhere” at the end of his reading. “These are poems from the real world where nature and everyday life converge and converse, where frogs and blackcaps are neighbours and the weather seeps into the fabric. Each poem is a study in concentrated place-fulness, a map in poetry of a village in rural France. The poems sing of the place - they bring it home, they draw you in.” Dr David Borthwick, Lecturer in Literature, Univ. Glasgow.

HOLY MOLY & THE CRACKERS!

Back by popular demand!  These great musicians are also lovely people. In 2016 they left our Festival and went directly to the stage in Glastonbury. This time they’ve come more than 1000 km to spend the weekend with us. Their recognition in the music world and their popularity continue to grow.  One of their songs is featured in the new Oceans 8 soundtrack. Well done Holy Moly!

The last two years have been a whirlwind and you might think that it’s time to take a breather. But Holy Moly And The Crackers are not that kind of band. The road is their home and they have got their foot to the floor. We are SO glad that they’ve taken the time to come to St. Clementin to share our Festival celebrations and to play for us.
